This lovely little lusterware teaset came to me via a friend who was cleaning out her summer place here in Montana. She is getting older and it is too hard to make the journey up here every summer. She had a lovely selection of old china, linens and jewels. Be sure to check out the rest of the website for the other new goodies.
This set is very fine, very thin lustreware porcelain, handpainted and in very nice condition. There is a two cup teapot, 2 cups and saucers and two dessert plates. The teapot measures 6 inches high. The cups are 3 inches high with saucers measuring 5 1/2 inches wide. The dessert plates are 7 1/4 inches wide. The scenes are handpainted and are of a house and a tree by a river. The bottoms of the plates and teapot are marked, MADE IN JAPAN. |
