I had a hard time dating this piece and finally settled on the 1920-30 era. It is a metal top over a translucent black glass ashtray. The top was painted but the design is very faint now. The metal portion has a round ring for lifting the inside to store cigarettes. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches high and the ashtray portion is 5 inches wide. It is in nice condition with no markings.
